Kyrodo walked up a sloping snow-covered road. He was shivering uncontrollably from the cold. No matter how hard he tried to stop himself, he just couldn’t stop himself from shaking. Kyr groaned miserably, then suddenly started laughing.
‘Eheheh… If the demons don’t defeat me, the snow will’
He could see a city in the distance. He took a deep sigh.
‘The further I go, the harder it seems to go on… The more darkness takes over my heart, the harder it is to see the point in all this. The harder it is to find any hope… Yet, I know there’s no turning back now, especially after all that’s happened… I made a promise I’m going to keep.’
Kyr’s hands clasped into fists suddenly. His eyes glowed red for a brief moment. A sharp pain suddenly swept through his heart. He fell to one knee, clasping his heart tightly as he took deep breaths. Waves of pain swept through him with each passing heartbeat. “God… what’s..happening to me!” he managed to say. A demonic voice seemed to shadow his own. A voice sounded in his head, much like his but not.
‘It’s all your fault! You killed him, and you’ve shattered the dreams of many, including your friends! You’re a heartless monster!’
Kyrodo stared at his right hand. For a brief second, his claws seemed to be covered in blood. His body shook uncontrollably as he felt the rage of another being take hold of him. So many voices shouted to him at once in his mind, so many thoughts swept through his mind with each passing second like a bullet train.
‘Let me take control of your mind! Give in to my will! You have no hope of standing against me!’
“Damn, not now…” Kyrodo rasped weakly as his claws pierced slightly into his chest.
‘Give up! You’ll never defeat Varick and his minions!’
“You’re..loud!…” Kyr growled as he tried to force it back. He felt a piece of metal swing against his hand. He slowly placed his hand around the necklace around his neck, and opened the locket. His eyes rested slightly as he watched the two in the picture. For some reason, he was having a hard time believing that that was him. The waves of pain slowly went away, and the demon dissipated. Kyrodo took deep breaths as he stared at the ground ahead of him. The cold felt numb now, and sweat covered his body. He pulled himself up and slowly stepped on, his hands still shaking uncontrollably. Each step he took felt weaker than the last. His heart had sunken so deeply in such a short time.
What if the demon were to take over before he could even face Varick?

“And so he approaches…” said a woman who was watching him through a crystal globe. She had long black hair and crystal blue eyes. She wore a long light blue cloak, a white shirt, and dark blue pants. “Send out the troops,” she said.

Kyrodo winced as his hand touched the ice that covered the huge iron doors. He stepped through the city gates without incident. The place was strangely quiet, and there wasn’t a living soul in sight.
‘There’s no one here… that can only mean they’ve expected my coming.’
Kyrodo’s eyes darted around wildly as he stepped further into the city. He can see an icy castle in the distance. He stepped into a wide empty street. The further he walked, the more he became aware that someone or something was watching him. His eyes darted about when he saw a shadow move by on the corner of his eye. Something suddenly lunged at him from the side. He whirled about and locked weapons with an armored red dragonoid. The dragonoid was carrying a spear with lightning sparking out near its blade. Several other dragonoids appeared from all around him, all wielding different weapons with various elements.
He jumped back as a blade thrust towards him, embers from its flame stinging his eyes. He spun about, blocking away weapons coming at him from all sides. He jumped back and took off into the air, sending down bolts of flame. The flames swept through, killing several. The remaining took off after him, sending up blasts of magic. Kyrodo quickly swirled about them, retaliating with blasts of his own. They charged after him viciously, their weapons waving about dangerously.
Kyro quickly blocked away several strikes, crying out when a blade struck him from behind. He felt like a million sharp icicles have just pierced into his back. He whirled about and stabbed the attacker through the chest. He yelled out as a bolt of black lightning grazed by his side. He was sent plummeting into the ground by a hefty kick. The dragonoids quickly aimed at him and fired bolts of energy at him through the resulting cloud of snow.
‘Embrace the darkness… and I’ll give you power,’ said a voice in his mind.
A powerful force swept away the smoke, a red barrier appearing underneath with red electricity striking around it. Kyrodo slowly pushed himself up, his eyes glowing red as he kept his hand pointed forward. The dragonoids landed all around him, all taking their stances. Kyr suddenly slammed his hand into the ground. His barrier burst out in blasts of red electricity. Explosions burst all around him as the resulting victims screams filled the air. Flames burst all about Kyro’s blade. He dashed all about the battlefield like a black wind, his flaming sword slashing through all that stood in his way.
The last remaining dragonoid clasped its wound as it sent forth a barrier in front of it, seeing Kyrodo closing in fast. Kyr swept by, the barrier shattering into a million pieces as the dragon’s blood shot up into the air.  As soon as the last dragonoid was dead, he cried out and fell to one knee, clasping at his heart again. Each heartbeat rang in his ears.
‘They say the more you fight, the faster the demon takes over…’ came Keith’s voice in his mind.
‘I can’t let it take over…’
He struggled to pull himself up and continued stepping forward bit by bit towards the castle in the distance. He could smell humans all around, despite the fact that he couldn’t see anyone. They were all hiding, like they were told… He was half torn by a certain blood lust… a blind need to kill. He cursed at himself as he continued forward, ignoring the thoughts in his mind.

He finally reached the castle. As he stepped inside, he immediately felt colder. Despite himself, he grumbled a few complaints under his breath. A figure stood at the end of the great hall inside. He stepped towards it until he was not too far from the girl who’d watched him through the globe. “You’re the demon leader,” said Kyrodo.
She smiled. She gripped a spear in her hand with an icy transparent blade. “And you’re the half-demon who slew several of my brethren. Though I must say I’m quite disappointed. You can barely maintain your own sanity. The demon is taking over quite quickly… It only shows how weak your mind is!”
“Shutup!” Kyrodo growled in a half-demonic voice. He rushed forward and swung at her with his blade. She quickly jumped back into the air and floated beyond his reach.
“My, I didn’t mean to hurt your, ‘feelings’,” she said with a laugh. She stopped and stared at him. “The name’s Syria.”
“I’m Kyrodo,” Kyr replied dully.
Syria took up a stance. “Very well, Kyrodo. I will be the one to end your pathetic life!” She pulled her spear up into the air with both hands, the blade starting to glow white. In a flash of light, Kyrodo was sent flying against one of the pillars random cuts had struck all over his body, and he felt like a huge pack of ice had just slammed into him. Before he could get back up, Syria sent forth a spray of ice shards towards him. He quickly sent up a barrier and blew them away.
He quickly retaliated with bolts of flame as he took flight. Syria deflected them away with a sweeping barrier, then landed down on the ground. She brought the tip of her spear down into the ground as Kyrodo charged towards her. Large, sharp icicles pierced out of the ground along Kyro’s path from both sides. Kyr quickly maneuvered his way through, wincing as an icicle cut along his cheek. Syria smiled and raised her hand as Kyro was drawing close.
A powerful white blast sent Kyrodo through the wall of the ice castle into the icy snow outside. Kyr clasped his bleeding arm as he stood back up, breathing heavily as he did. “You can never defeat the demons of Varick!” Syria shouted as she stepped through the hole.
“Why are so many people telling me to give up?!” Kyrodo growled annoyedly. Syria smiled and put her fist up, three icicles appearing between her fingers.
“Death is all you’ll find!” she shouted as she flung them forward. They split up in to smaller shards as they flew towards him. He quickly deflected several of them as he jumped out of the way. He spread his wings out and charged towards her, deflecting away shards of ice that came in his way. He dodged to the side as another white flash of light shot bye, and quickly swung his blade forward. Their weapons clashed. They struck at each other several times, then Kyr brought in a quick strike and made a small gash across her side.
Syria growled and made a large gash across Kyrodo’s chest with a broad swing. Kyro yelled out as he fell to the floor. Syria brought her hand up to the sky, a huge ball of ice appearing above her. She sent it crashing forward. Kyrodo screamed as it impacted his shoulder and sent him sprawling. It shattered into shards and pierced all along his body. Kyro lay still, blood mingling into the snow.
“Pity, you didn’t even present a challenge,” Syria muttered.
‘You’re weak…’ came a voice in Kyrodo’s head.
His eyes shot open, glowing bright red. A red aura spiraled around him, black electricity zapping near his body. He slowly pushed himself up, the ice shards falling out from him. His wounds closed up visibly. Syria smiled. “Ah, so it finally awakens,” she said with a laugh. “And not a moment too soon.”
The horns in his head grew larger, his fangs became genuinely sharp, and black electricity zapped along his wings. He slowly pulled his hand up towards Syria, his face expressionless. Syria quickly jumped out of the way as a red blast shot past and exploded through one of the nearby buildings. Screams filled the air as the inhabitants inside were caught in the blast. “As expected from a descendant of Varick,” Syria muttered. “But a mindless lesser demon, nonetheless.”
Kyrodo’s black blade reappeared in his hand as he rapidly sped towards Syria. Syria yelled out as the force of the blow sent her flying. She quickly flipped back and sprung off one of the buildings high into the air. Bright light blue dragons wings appeared behind her back as she made her ascent, her eyes starting to glow. Kyrodo bulleted after her, shooting up sprays of thin red bolts after her like a machine gun.
Syria quickly whirled around and protected her self with a glowing blue barrier. Kyro sent up a barrier around himself and collided against her. They flew about each other, colliding again and again as electricity zapped through the air. When they collided again, Syria quickly sent a white blast straight through her barrier. Their shields shattered, and Kyro was sent back through the air. Kyro roared aloud in fury and brought his sword up to the sky with both hands, a green energy zapping around it.
Syria cursed as she brought her spear up, hers glowing much the same way with a blue light. They swung their weapons broadly through the air towards each other, the two energy waves colliding powerfully in the air. Syria took the initiative and flew after Kyrodo, sending forth more waves of energy with each swing. Kyro flew back defensively, dodging about and parrying them with his own waves of energy. Each would collided and dissipate through the air. Kyr flipped around another wave and sped towards Syria.
Syria quickly reacted by sending forth a massive spray of ice shards. Kyr continued charging through the air, his blade moving about in a blur in front of him and deflecting the shards. “What?!” Syria exclaimed. Their weapons clashed powerfully. They glared at each other for a brief moment. Syria hissed, claws grew out of her left hand as she slashed forward with them. Kyr yelled out as his flesh was ripped out. “DIE!!!” she growled as she sped after him, slashing aggressively.
Kyrodo defended himself desperately as he sped backwards through the air.
‘Give in to the darkness… the more you give in, the more power you will have!’ came a voice inside Kyrodo’s head.
He yelled out as Syria pulled back and sent down another slash wave. Large gashes struck all over his body as he was sent plummeting towards the ground. Syria flung herself downwards after him. Kyrodo hit the rooftop of one of the buildings hard. He could just barely see her coming down after him. Despite himself, he slowly put his hands up and sent up another barrier. She came down and struck at his shield repeatedly. The force of each blow sent waves of anguish and exhaustion sweeping through Kyro.
‘Let me take control! Let us join together and destroy all who get in our way!’ came the voice again.
Kyrodo suddenly closed his eyes. Syria stopped and watched him wonderingly.  He smiled and his eyes shot back open. “You’ve made me very angry,” came a demonic version of his voice. He stood up, despite his wounds. A red aura within his eyes slowly spiraled around his pupil.
“Those eyes!…” Syria exclaimed. “They remind me of him…” she said with distaste.
Kyrodo’s brows creased, his expression full of hatred. “I hate you. I’m going to blow your guts out, and you can’t stop me!…”
He suddenly disappeared from sight. Syria’s eyes widened. “What?!” She jumped back into the air as a spray of red bolts bulleted down from above. Screams pierced the air as the inner inhabitants were struck. Kyrodo came down and kicked her into the wall of one of the buildings. Syria growled and sprung up just as Kyr’s blade tore through the wall. The snow below Kyrodo shot up and spiraled about Kyr.
Kyrodo growled like a beast as he looked about wildly. The snow formed into shards of ice and closed in. Kyr deflected them all away with his blade and continued charging after Syria. He dodged past several bulks of ice, then sent up a wave of energy from his blade. Syria sent back a retaliatory wave, the two colliding against each other brilliantly. Syria smiled, a smile which soon fade when Kyrodo’s blast struck through, the remains of the energy striking Syria. She yelled out as she was sent back, wounds making their way along her body.
Kyrodo laughed evilly as he charged after her. “I… won’t let you win!” Syria shouted as she sped away in a flash. Syria appeared in random places throughout the air, firing forth sprays of ice shards like bullets at Kyr. Kyrodo took up the same process, speeding through the sky faster than the eye can see. Snow was sent in all directions as they made collisions through the air. Waves, ice shards, bolts, and bulks of ice were exchanged from both sides as they spiraled about the battle field.
Kyrodo struck several times, then swung a gash across Syria’s side. She retaliated with a flurry of blows, then disappeared and reappeared behind Kyr, striking him across the back. Kyr quickly whirled about and sent forth a spray of bolts, several bulleting along her arms and shoulders and ripping away the flesh. Syria growled angrily as she sent back several slash waves towards Kyro. He quickly sped around them, parrying the last one with a wave of his own. She sped out of the way from the resulting blast, and kicked down at Kyr from above. She reappeared down below and shot a white blast straight up into his back.
Kyr let out a demonic cry as a bulk of his flesh was ripped away. Syria smiled in triumph. Kyrodo suddenly appeared behind her and flashed his blade across her back. She cried out in pain, desperately sending up a barrier around herself as she glanced about to see where he’d strike from next. Kyro was far beyond her vision. His blade crashed into the side of her barrier, then he struck up from below. He sent his blade crashing down from above, then sped forward and swung by from the front. The barrier shattered in seconds, screaming out as her blood shot up into the air.
He sent her flying downwards with a blast of flame, then sped down after her, his sword glowing brighter than ever. He pulled the blade around his other arm, red electricity striking all along it. He swung the blade as strongly as he could, a powerful wave of fiery energy crashing after her. Her loud scream broke into the air as her body was torn apart. Darkness clouded Kyr’s eyes as he slowly landed beside the bloody heap. The villagers slowly crept out.
“You… killed her…” said one of them in wonderment.
Kyrodo dropped his sword and fell to his arms and knees. He clasped his heart with one hand as waves of pain swept through him. He could hear each heart beat pound loudly in his ears. His eyes widened with each passing wave. One of them stepped forward. “Uh, hey? You all right?”
“Run…” Kyr rasped. “Please, all of you… just..run!…ACK!” He cursed as a fierce wave of pain gripped him. A red aura swept around him and black electricity struck about his wings. The villagers started to back away slowly at first, then they started to run in panic. Kyrodo roared out as the demon took over. Berserk rage filled his eyes. Hatred echoed from his body.
He aggressively charged after the villagers, killing them one by one with his claws and fangs.  Their screams of agony filled the air. The real Kyr could do nothing but watch the senseless killings, no longer able to control his body. In his mind, he was desperately fighting for control, but to no avail. He was fighting a losing battle. In moments, his mind almost completely shut down, barely retaining any consciousness at all.
‘I lost… the demon… took over… Sorya… please… forgive me…’ his last thoughts echoed through his mind.
A shadow suddenly swept buy and carried off one of the people he was about to murder. “No more senseless bloodshed!” came a fierce but melodic voice. Through Kyr’s blurred vision, all he could see was the silhouette of a long-haired woman with majestic, shining, beautiful white wings. The silhouette raised one of her hands. There was a bright flash of light, then his consciousness was lost completely.
